Inmate Services

Services provided for the inmates are a 12 step program, drug and or alcohol rehabilitation programs, as well as 3 meals a day, made and served by inmate labor which is supervised by Kellwell Food Service employees.

Inmate Accounts

Accounts for the inmates are set up at the time they are booked into the Fannin County Detention Center if they have any money with them. Family members or friends can bring money to the inmate to be placed on their account for their use on our automated system located in the lobby, or by clicking the Inmate Canteen tab below.

Inmate Commissary

Commissary is provided to those inmates that have money on their accounts and are allowed to buy drinks, candy, snacks, paper, pens,  and personal hygiene items.

Inmate Medical

Medical services are provided to all inmates. Within 14 days of their arrival to the Detention Center, a complete medical screening is provided for the inmates. Afterwards if an inmate requests medical attention it is provided at a cost of a $5.00 co-pay to those that have money on their account. Dental services are provided only if the service is paid for by the inmate in advance to a local dentist.

Lt. Tyler Limburg

Adult Detention Center

Lt. Tyler Limburg commands the Fannin County Adult Detention Center.  He started his career with the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office in 2018 quickly becoming a shift Sergeant in 2019.  Lt. Limburg has been a certified taser instructor since 2022 and has conducted many hours of jail specific training.  He was appointed to the rank of Lieutenant based on his training and experience in 2025.  Lt. Limburg  oversees  the day-to-day operation of the Fannin County Adult Detention Center.

Fannin County Adult Detention Center

The Fannin County Adult Detention Center is staffed by 15 Detention Officers that provide security for the inmates. The staff consists of Lt. Tyler Limburg,  Staff Sgt. Brittny Depuy, 4 Detention Sgts. and 11 Detention Officers.

The Fannin County Adult Detention Center is located at 645 West First Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513 in downtown Blue Ridge, directly behind the Fannin County Courthouse. The detention facility provides humane treatment for persons convicted of violating the Georgia Code and for persons charged with felonies and misdemeanors awaiting bond or court appearances. There are 84 beds in separate dormitories for men and women.

BONDING INFORMATION

Cash Bonds 

The exact amount of the total bond in cash or certified U.S. Funds plus a $20.00 bond fee. The cash will be held by the Clerk of the court in which the bond was made until such time as the case can be disposed of in court.

Property Bonds 

A Property Bond allows a property owner who owns real property in Fannin County to use that property in place of a cash bond, along with the required $20.00 bond fee.

Property Bonds require that all individuals whose names appear on the warranty deed must be present when the property bond is posted.  If a person listed on the warranty deed is deceased, a copy of the death certificate and/or a properly executed quitclaim deed must be provided.

The following documents are required to post a property bond:

  • The most recent property tax receipt
  • A copy of the warranty deed for the property being used as collateral
  • A valid photo identification for all required property owners

By posting a property bond, a lien will be placed on the property by the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office. The lien will remain in place until the case is disposed of by the court and the bond is released.  Please ensure all required documents are available before attempting to post a property bond.

Professional Bondsman

Only the Sheriff of Fannin County may authorize a professional bondsman to operate within Fannin County.

The professional bonding companies currently authorized to operate in Fannin County are:

  • William’s Bail Bonding
  • Smith Bonding Company
  • Fast X-IT Bonding

To arrange a professional bond, the inmate or a family member must contact one of the authorized bonding companies directly. The bonding company will work with the inmate or family to arrange the bond and coordinate the release with the Fannin County Detention Center.

Professional bonding companies generally require payment of 15% of the total bond amount, in addition to the $20.00 bond fee payable to the Detention Center.

Please note: The fee paid to the professional bondsman is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the case

Bond Release / Surrendering a Defendant

If a surety or the person who posted the bond wishes to be released from responsibility for a person’s bond, the individual who is out on bond must be surrendered back into custody.  The surety or bond poster must arrange for the person to be returned to the Fannin County Detention Center or another authorized jail within the State of Georgia.  Once the individual has been returned to custody, the appropriate bond release process can be completed.

Weapons Carry License

The Probate Court of Fannin County issues Georgia Weapons Carry Licenses to all qualified persons who are residents of Fannin County, Georgia. Georgia Weapons Carry licenses may be obtained Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m. Please visit the Fannin County Probate page for more information.
